The fifth edition of the FINAL CUT IN VENICE workshop will take place from September 3 to 5 2017, in collaboration with Laser Film, Mactari Mixing Audiorium, Titra Film, Sub-Ti Ltd, Sub-Ti Access Srl, Rai Cinema, Festival International du Film d’Amiens, Festival International de Films de Fribourg, MAD Solutions, Institut Français.
The Venice film Festival Festival and the Venice Production Bridge’s purpose is to provide concrete assistance in the completion of films from all African countries and from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria; and to offer producers and directors an opportunity to present films still in production phase to international film professionals and distributors in order to facilitate post-production and promote co-production partnerships and market access.
The workshop consists in three days of activities, in which the working copies of a maximum of six selected films are presented to producers, buyers, distributors and film festival programmers. The workshop will provide also prizes in kind or in cash to complete the films:
The workshop will conclude with the awarding of prizes, in kind or in cash, for the financial support of the films in their post-production phase:
– Biennale Price of € 5,000 for the best film in post-production
– € 15,000 for the color correction of a feature-length film offered by Laser Film (Rome) for up to 50 hours of work (technician included)
– €15,000 offered by Mactari Mixing Auditorium (Paris) for the sound mixing of a feature-length film (up to 12 days of work, sound re recording mixer not included);
– €5,000 for the production of a DCP master/French or English subtitles (translation not included)/I-Tunes, Google or Netflix files + a discount of € 5,000 for digital color correction (technician not included) offered by Titra Film (Paris),
– up to € 7,000 for the production of the DCP master and Italian or English subtitles, offered by Sub-Ti Ltd. (London);
– up to € 7,000 for the accessible contents of the film for audiences with sensory disabilities: subtitles for the deaf and hearing impaired and audio description for the blind and visually impaired, with audio subtitles, in Italian or English, offered by SUB-TI ACCESS Srl(Turin) (the SDH file and the audio described soundtrack for DCP will be provided);
– € 5,000 for the purchase of two-year broadcasting rights by Rai Cinema;
– A 35mm print (without subtitles) or the participation in the production costs of a DCP (€ 2,000), offered by the Festival International du Film d’Amiens;
– A 35mm print (without subtitles) or the participation in the production costs of a DCP (€ 2,000), offered by the Festival International de Films de Fribourg;
– Marketing, publicity and distribution in the Arab World for one Arab project is offered by MAD Solutions (except for projects already attached to MAD Solutions).
Networking, encounters and meetings will allow directors and producers to interact directly with the workshop participants.

La cinquième édition de l’atelier FINAL CUT IN VENICE aura lieu du 3 au 5 septembre 2017 dans le cadre du Venice Production Bridge de la 74ème Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica (Lido de Venise, 30 août-9 septembre 2017) en collaboration avec Laser Film, Mactari Mixing Audiorium, Titra Film, Sub-Ti Ltd, Sub-Ti Access Srl, Rai Cinema, Festival International du Film d’Amiens, Festival International de Films de Fribourg, MAD Solutions, Institut Français.
La Mostra souhaite apporter une aide concrète à la finition de films provenant de pays africains, d’Irak, Jordanie, Liban, Territoires Palestiniens et Syrie en offrant à leurs producteurs et réalisateurs l’opportunité de présenter leurs films en phase de post production à des professionnels du monde entier. Et ceci dans le but d’en faciliter leur finition et leur accès au marché, ainsi que de susciter d’éventuels accords de coproduction.
L’atelier consiste en trois journées de travail pendant lesquelles jusqu’à 6 films, préalablement sélectionnés sur la base d’une copie de travail seront présentés à des producteurs, acheteurs, distributeurs et programmateurs de festivals de cinéma.
L’atelier se terminera avec la remise de prix en cash ou en nature, ayant pour but le soutien économique des films dans leur phase de post-production:
– Prix Biennale de la valeur de € 5.000 au meilleur film en post-production
– € 15.000 offerts par Laser Film (Rome) pour l’étalonnage numérique d’un long-métrage (jusqu’à 50 heures de travail, étalonneur compris);
– €15.000 offerts par Mactari Mixing Auditorium (Paris) pour les travaux de mixage son d’un long métrage (jusqu’à 12 jours de travail, mixeur exclus);
– € 5.000 offert par Titra Film (Paris) en prestations de : mastering DCP / sous-titrage français, anglais (hors traduction) / fabrication fichiers I-Tunes, Google ou Netflix + € 5.000 de remise à valoir sur travaux d’étalonnage numérique (hors étalonneur);
– € 7.000 offerts par Sub-Ti Ltd. (Londres) pour la réalisation d’un DCP et/ou le sous-titrage en italien ou en anglais;
– € 7.000 offerts par Sub-Ti Access Srl (Torino) pour une version accessible aux handicapés sensoriels: des sous-titres pour les sourds et la description audio pour les aveugles et malvoyants, y compris les sous-titres audio en voix off, en italien ou en anglais (seront fournis les sous-titres et la piste de l’audio description pour l’inclusion dans le DCP),
– € 5.000 offerts par Rai Cinema pour l’acquisition des droits de diffusion pour deux ans;
– participation au coût de réalisation d’un DCP, à hauteur de € 2.000, offert par le Festival International du Film d’Amiens;
– participation au coût de réalisation d’un DCP, à hauteur de € 2.000, offert par le Festival International du Film de Fribourg;
– marketing, publicité et distribution dans le monde arabe offerts par MAD Solutions pour un film arabe (à l’exception des films déjà couverts par Solutions MAD).
Des mises en réseau, rencontres et réunions sont prévues, au cours desquelles les réalisateurs et producteurs des films sélectionnés pourront échanger avec les participants de l’atelier.
