Synopsis:
Abdou, a teenager anxious to regain his dignity by learning to read and to write, lives in the outskirts of a mining town in Morocco. Mbarka, his adoptive mother, is the healer of the neighbourhood, feared and respected by everyone. Abdou convinces Ch’aayba, a thirty-year old fishmonger and mugger, to let his mother heal a skin disease. From that moment onwards, their three destinies are dangerously entwined…
